  3. Who are BAA? • UK Airport Operator • Privatised in 1987 • Bought by Ferrovial in 2006 • 6 Airports • 3 in England • 3 in Scotland • Also owned London Gatwick until Dec 2009 • London Heathrow • 4 Terminals (5 until November 2009) • 2 Runways

  4. Maximo at BAA - History • First implemented Maximo in the mid 90s • Originally separate implementations at each airport • Consolidated into one instance of Maximo v4 • Upgraded to v5 in September 2006 • Terminal 5 opened in March 2008 • Divestment of Gatwick Airport in May 2010

  5. Maximo at BAA - Today • Version 5.2 • 6 customisations • Configuration using DVL and workflow • Interface to Oracle Financials using MEA • Over 2500 users across 6 airports and Business Support Centre • Over 100 Customised Actuate Reports • iMaintain for Planning

The Problems • 26% of projects in 2009 failed to integrate information +2 months after completion (74% represented 26,000 assets) • We don’t have a single ‘data capture tool’ we supply to our projects (we have 3) none of which are supported directly by BAA IT • By mid 2013 we expect 200,000 new assets will need integrating into Maximo

EAM solution • To enable delivery we need an Enterprise Asset Management solution that will support our Strategy • Working with our parent company Ferrovial to develop competency and strategy to ensure that our organisation, processes, data and tools optimise our approach to Asset Management to deliver our business objective • Integration of all systems related to asset information: GIS, document management, building management systems • IT is not necessarily the answer to Asset Management, but may be part of the solution
