  1. BlingerTuesday 11/28/12 Reminder: Field Trip forms and checks are due Friday! Provide a grade for the following thesis statement (A-E) and also provide a justification for that grade. Although Albom’s ethos is questionable, he still does a good job telling his reader that texting is bad by using pathos and rhetorical questions.

  2. New and Improved! Although Albom might not have the authority to speak decisively on the issue of technology use in society, he still convinces his audience that texting can diminish our connection to loved ones by appealing to the fears of his readers and utilizing thought provoking rhetorical questions.

  3. Crafting Your Thesis Question: Did the author successfully relay his/her message and achieve his/her purpose? How/why? • Answer: YOUR THESIS STATEMENT! • Remember, thesis statements should have 2 parts: • X = What • Y = How and Why
