  2. The six age groups that have specified different needs from one another are Infants, Children, Teens, Adults, Pregnant Women, and Elders. As an infant and small child, you require more calories to help with growth and development, but you also need extra calcium to help build your bones properly. Women at childbearing age need extra folic acid, and pregnant women need extra iron. And as an elder, you need a vitamin D supplement.

  3. A lack of calorie intake, can lead to anorexia and have side effects such as, fatigue, sleepiness, hair loss, and even memory loss. Whereas if you take in too many calories, it can lead to obesity. Lack of Iron can cause Iron Deficiency Anemia, which has symptoms like fatigue and reduced cognitive functions. Taking in too much iron can lead to having iron buildup in your internal organs which can interrupt their natural function Vitamin D allows your body to absorb Calcium. If you don’t get enough, it can lead to cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and osteoporosis. Too much can cause nausea, weakness, vomiting, and more; it can also cause high blood calcium levels which can lead to abnormal heart rhythm.

  4. 1 Day plan for a lactose intolerant male at the age of 16: Breakfast -Orange -3 slices of toast with strawberry jam -Glass of soy milk Lunch -BLT -2 Juice boxes -2 granola bars Dinner -Chicken -2 glasses of soy milk -garlic bread -salad FV= 8 servings Grain= 7 servings Dairy= 3 servings Meat= 3 servings

  5. 1 Day meal plan for 10$ budget Breakfast -Hard Boiled Eggs $1.49 -Water -Free- Lunch -Ham and Cheese Sandwich $4.29 -Milk 2 Go $1.99 Dinner -Chef Boyardee Spaghetti and Meatball $1.69 -Water -Free- Total $9.46

  6. Although some of the diet plans sound beneficial, what these diets get rid of are actually necessities that your body needs to develop properly and sustain itself. There are some “miracle” foods however that are very healthy for you, but should not be used as an exclusive diet. Generally, and fruit and vegetable diet would help with weight, but you still need to find ways to get your other nutrients. I think that any source that says you can live healthy and lose weight just by eating a single food, should be cast aside, as this is not a healthy way of living.

  7. Chocolate Chip Cookies 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1 cup packed light-brown sugar 1 teaspoon salt 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract 2 large eggs 2 cups (about 12 ounces) semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips But what you could do to make this more healthy, is substitute half of the flour for whole wheat flour. You could also use organic chocolate chips. Also you could replace the butter with some low fat substitute.

  8. Food additives have different effects in foods such as preservation, taste, and presentation. Food enrichments are added micronutrients, which are sometimes added for commercial purposes, and sometimes as a part of a health policy.

  9. When it comes to food marketing, many companies use an icon or mascot in their advertisements. This helps provide a seemingly more personal connection when you look at it. For example, in the picture to the left, this would greatly impact the number of children who want to drink Coca-Cola as it associates their obsession for Christmas with a soft drink. This could possibly impact the parents of those children as well, as when they are out Christmas shopping, Santa could be on their mind a bit here and there.

  10. When it comes to sodium consumption, our own country is among the top of the list. This is a problem as we consume more than double what we should of sodium, and excessive sodium can lead to high blood pressure, osteoporosis, stomach cancer and kidney disease. However, the government is working on making our country a healthier place by reducing the amount of sodium we put in our packaged foods.

  11. I personally love Japan, and seeing as I have even been to Japan, I have chosen this country as my cultural selection. Common foods their consist of noodles, shellfish, egg, and of course rice. They will even use shrimp as flavoring, but they also use other ingredients such as leek, soy and seeweed.

  13. I think it would be cool to be a fortune cookie writer, or work at a bakery, or MAKE CHOCOLATE!!! Well, the first 2 are pretty straightforward, but working at a chocolate factor, that could be more complicated. There are a few essential jobs that need to be done before the chocolate can even begin to be made. The cacao plants need to be harvested by the farmers, then fermented by the roasters, and cracked open by the winnowers. But when it actually comes to making chocolate, you should probably learn by going to a culinary school somewhere, and then just practice, discover new techniques and try varying recipes.
