  2. DERS company DERS company was founded 1999. OBD (Personal Bibliographic Database) was first aplication for register of publication activities. VERSO – own developped framework platform, to allow OBD comunicate in multiplatform database environment

  3. There were researchers at the begining... OBD aplication at the begining was personal bibliographic database for researchers. They used it as register for their own publications.

  4. ... later whole institutions When personal results had to be sent to central register, OBD was extended with functions to administer and export records to RIV (Results of R&D central register) Later whole institutions started to use this software not only to send data to RIV (R&D IS), but for complete registering of bibliographic activities of their internal workers also.

  5. Today... Recent version of OBD system was changed from personal register to institutional use. Now it is thin client web aplication with access control. A lot of parts could be customised by user itselves. There are a lot of adminstration functions with posibility to export data to R&D IS. Aplication is updated periodicaly to meet new requirements. Next we should introduce some features of this software:

  6. System features • Thin client - access through Internet • Configurable rights and roles – Each institution could have own configuration

  7. System features Record Workflow – each record comes through various statuses from unfinished, stored, checked to approved or published. There are driven rights to each status of record.

  8. System features • Work with code lists - system offers couple of basic code lists, that could be extended with data from external resources (authors, workplaces, magazines, grants, conferences). Next simple code lists could be created by user itself and connect it to fields in the form.

  9. System features • Configurable forms for different types of results – forms for different types of results are user definable and each field could be checked with various check procedures, that are prepared to meet requrement of R&D IS

  10. System features • Posibility to sort records – choosen records are possible to place to user definable folders, so each user see only his folders or he could share folders with other users. There are prepared functions to work with folders easily.

  11. System features • Dashboard – to have overview about entered publications we have dashboard. It is equipped with various user configurable portlets.

  12. Data exports • Data export to RIV (R&D IS) • Bibliographic format exports and statistic overviews

  13. Data Imports • Web of Science Data Import • Procite Data Import • R&D IS Data Import (xml format) • User Definable Imports • Import of Impact Faktor (xls format) • Import of Scores from R&D IS (points) • Users and People Import

  14. Related aplications OBD cooperates with next aplications we developed: Grants a Projects and Internal grant agency. They are used to register solved grants, projects and to split resources for institutional R&D.
