  3. Alpha Kappa Psi History • First professional business fraternity • Founded: October 5, 1904 • Incorporated: May 20, 1905 • African-Americans & Women - August 7, 1976

Membership Requirements Application Packet (due January 29th ): • Formal application • 3.0 grade point average minimum • Resume • 1 Brotherhood Recommendation • 2 Letters of Recommendation • 1 Faculty (On Official Letterhead) • 1 Character Reference • 1 Essay (250 words) • Why do want to become a member of Alpha Kappa Psi? • Unofficial Transcript

  12. Membership Requirements • Interviews • February 1-3 , 5-9 pm • MUST attend at least 1 RUSH Party • February 2 and February 3, 7-9 pm • Pledge Fee • $270 in installments

  18. AKPsi Hazing Policy Hazing Activities Any action taken or situation created, intentionally or unintentionally, on or off fraternity premises, to produce physical or mental discomfort, embarrassment, harassment, ridicule or possibly cause physical harm or injury

AKPsi Hazing Policy Activities include but are not limited to: • Late work sessions which interfere w/ scholastic activities • Blindfolds • Engaging in public stunts of buffoonery • Morally degrading or humiliating activities • Any activities not consistent w/ fraternity law, ritual or policy, or any state, county, city and university laws or regulations

AKPsi Hazing Policy Activities include but are not limited to: • Use of alcohol • Paddling • Creation of excessive fatigue • Physical/Psychological shocks • Quests & Treasure/Scavenger Hunts • Road trips • Kidnapping • Consumption of food, beverage or any other substance except in the course of regular meals

AKPsi Hazing Policy Mental Hazing includes but is not limited to: • No pre-initiation activities on day prior to Honor Court or Ritual Initiation that would cause physical or mental fatigue. • Activities shall be limited to those which attempt to increase knowledge of the Fraternity and professional intent.

  24. FAMU Hazing Policy Hazing shall include, but not be limited to: • Any brutality of a physical nature • Forced consumption of food, liquor, drugs or other substances • Exposure to the elements • Forced physical activities which would adversely affect the health or safety of the individual

  25. FAMU Hazing Policy Hazing shall include, but not be limited to: • Subjecting persons to extreme mental stress • Forced exclusion from social contact • Forced conduct which would be demeaning or cause extreme embarrassment

  26. FAMU Hazing Policy Penalties: • Imposition of fines • Withholding grades, transcripts or diplomas • Probation, suspension, dismissal, or expulsion of said person (s) or organization (s)

  28. Sexual Harassment Policy Prohibited activities include but are not limited to: • Unwelcome sexual advances • Requests for sexual favors • Other sexually offensive verbal and/or physical contact
