  2. The Components • Club Newsletter • Club Officer Training • Division Wide Training • Division Wide Function • Club Visits • Required Attendance • Dues Collection • Committee Work • Service to Home, School, and Community • New Club Building

  3. Club Newsletter Produce and distribute at least 10 monthly newsletters for his/her club officers. The following will be considered: Appearance, Content, Timeliness of Material Covered, Spelling/Grammar. Tip: Make your articles fun and informative so readers feel engaged in what you’re talking about!

  4. Club Officer Training By November 15th, work with fellow district officers and Kiwanis to provide training for all club officers at a divisional training conference. Tip: Make sure every officer in your division attends by planning at least two months in advance and making phone calls to personally invite them.

  5. Division Wide Function The Lieutenant Governor must have held a division wide function or project; President Council Meetings do not count. Tip: Hold a division wide service project, such as making trauma dolls or Christmas Cards for sick children.

  6. Club Visits The Lieutenant Governor must have visited every club in their division at least once. Tip: Schedule your visits at least three weeks ahead of time in order to plan for it- bring Key Club resource material with you!

  7. Required Attendance The Lieutenant Governor must attend the district convention at the start and end of their term, all district board meetings, district officers training, Kiwanis DCON or Kiwanis Mid-Winter. Other events attended are also considered. Tip: Keep track of everything you attend for when you’re putting together your binder!

  8. Dues Collection The Lieutenant Governor should ensure that 100% of all Key Clubs within his/her division has paid both district and International dues paid by district convention. Tip: When you visit your clubs in the fall, sit down with the treasurer and discuss their dues payment process.

  9. Committee Work The Lieutenant Governor must communicate with members of their district committees and complete all work as assigned by the governor and the committee chair. Tip: Keep copies of all the flyers you make, articles you write, etc. to place in your binder at the end of your term.

  10. Service to Home, School, and Community The Lieutenant Governor must perform at least 50 hours of service during their term. Tip: Keep a record of all the service you do- it’s hard to remember everything in the end!

  11. New Club Building Work with Kiwanis and the Key Club Board to increase the number of active clubs within the division during the administrative year. Tip: Start early- talk to school principals as soon as possible to get clubs chartered by convention!

  12. Compiling Your Binder! • Use dividers to help guide the judge through your work • Include a table of contents • Keep it organized • Use pictures! • Put every newsletter and flyer you ever made in it • Most importantly, SHOW the judges how hard you worked during your year as Lt. Governor!
