Objectiveof the study • To produce a numerous and low cost planting material stocks in aim to restore the degraded forest landscape Specific objective for Ravensara aromatica : • To ensure that chemotypes identified through chemical analyses of essential oil will be maintained in clonal trees. • To respect the market request of homogeneity of essential oil composition to win added value.

  3. Material and method • 200 stem cuttings, 2 trees for every 5 chemical patterns of Ravensara aromatica ; harvested in 4 natural forests (Ampasina, Didy, Anosibe an’Ala, Raboana) • Avalaible number of cuttings from other available native species trees met in forest. • Simple technic easily transfered to local population (leafy stem cutting 7-10 cm length,7-10 mm diameter, hormone AIB 1%(optional), raised in plastic bag on mixture 2/3 compos-1/3 river sand, raised on chassis, daily morning watered)
