  4. Kites Kites played a big part of understanding the laws of lifts , propulsion, and control which later apply to building airplanes.

  5. Hot air Balloon The modern age of aviation began with the first untethered human lighter-than-air flight on November 21, 1783, in a hot air balloon designed by the Montgolfier Brothers. Jean Pierre Blanchard flew the first human-powered dirigible.

  6. Glider In 1803 Sir George Cayley was building and flying planes. Between 1867 and 1896 the German pioneer of human aviation Otto Lilienthal developed heavier-than-air flight. He was the first person to make well-documented, repeated, successful gliding flights. The Wright brothers were the first to fly in a powered and controlled aircraft.

  7. Commercial Aviation Tony Jannus conducted the United States' first scheduled commercial airline. Boeing Company concentrate on wide-body and narrow-body jet airliners. This company been around since 1917. They produce different range of planes from commercial to militaries.

  8. Military Aviation All U.S military branch uses aircraft. Types: Ground attack Bombers Fighters Multirole combat Reconnaissance aircraft Military transport Experimental aircraft
