  1. God moves in a mysterious way His wonders to perform; He plants His footsteps in the sea, And rides upon the storm.

  2. Deep in un-fath-om-a-ble mines Of never failing skill, He treasures up His bright designs, And works His sovereign will.

  3. Blind unbelief is sure to err, And scan His work in vain: God is His own interpreter, And He will make it plain.

  4. Judge not the Lord by feeble sense, But trust Him for His grace; Though now we see through darkened glass, We'll see Him face to face!

  5. My God Is So Big • My God is so big, so strong and so mighty There’s nothing that He cannot do My God is so big, so strong and so mighty There’s nothing that He cannot do The rivers are His, the mountains are His The skies are His handiwork too My God is so big, so strong and so mighty There’s nothing that He cannot do

  6. The Promised Land • Walled cities, professional armies, and giants! • God’s people entered the land, crossing the Jordan on dry ground, and subdued the enemy. • Because the Lord God of Israel fought for Israel. • He chose them to the high calling of being His partners.

  7. Lessons from Ai Josh 7,8 • We must recognize the real enemy and his potential. • overconfidence • We must determine why we were defeated by the enemy. • sin in the camp • We must apply Biblical principles to our spiritual battles.

  8. Biblical Principles • His Presence is essential • Israel’s success and ours is totally dependent upon God • Obedience is required • Sin will not be blessed with victory • Faith is indispensable • Faith continues to grow • Faith focuses on the revealed character of God

  9. Even when it’s uncomfortable • How can a gracious, loving God justify killing all those people? • In Joshua, Israel was God’s chosen instrument of judgment against sin. • The Canaanites were evil, almost beyond what we can imagine today Dt. 12, 20 • Their utter annihilation was commanded to prevent Israel from following their ways.
