  4. SELFISH MOTHER MURDERS HER DISABLED CHILD Jane Rapport has been arrested for killing her disabled four-year-old daughter to avoid having to care for the child. The child’s needs interfered with Rapport’s selfish lifestyle, who sold drugs and drank heavily. Neighbors claim Rapport frequents night clubs, “sells and uses cocaine,” and oftentimes leaves her daughter home alone when she goes out. Police discovered the daughter’s corpse stabbed to death in the Rapport’s kitchen, while the she sat in an adjacent room watching television. Apparently, the mother grew tired of caring for her disabled daughter, who needed almost 24-hour attention. The murder was committed after a night of heavy drinking when the mother claimed she just “wanted a break.”

  5. MAN SENTENCED FOR VILE CASE OF RAPE/MURDER A session court sentenced 24-year old Jamie Thompson to life imprisonment holding him guilty for a vile case of murder and rape of a minor in January of this year. Thompson first held the victim’s head down in a bucket of water and raped her when she fell unconscious, assuming she was dead. Later as she started gaining consciousness, he beat her to death with a rod and buried the body under his front porch. Police claim that the accused targeted minors who played in a neighboring park and coerced them to his home with a claim that he would show them magic tricks. After the child agreed, police claim they were then handcuffed.

  6. FOUR ARRESTED IN SENSELESS ROBBERY/HOMICIDE Police have arrested a youth and her three associates for a senseless killing of a homeless man. The one adult, 18 year old Jenna Rosch, and three teen aged friends, allegedly beat and looted a homeless man for his six-pack of beer before killing him. The body was found near railroad tracks. “Deciding to rob him for the beer, they took him near the railway tracks on the night of November 10. All four of them first beat the victim and then stabbed him using three knives. They left with the little money (8 dollars) the man had and a six pack of beer a neighbor had given him.”

  7. DEVOTED LOCAL RESIDENT RUNS A NON PROFIT FOOD BANK FOR PETS Jim Wright, a devoted resident, runs the first nonprofit food bank for pets. Everything started back in 1997 when he decided to start his own nonprofit organization to meet the need of homeless pets. He bought pet food with his own money and gave it to people straight from his truck. The effort expanded in 2008 when Wright gave his organization a physical location. It’s become one of the largest pet food banks in the nation, providing 600,000 pounds of food last year for dogs, cats and other pets. Wright says he wants to keep his organization growing and keep spreading the word so that fewer animals wind up being abandoned and ultimately put down.
