  1. God’s Miracle People Exodus 19:1-6

  2. Exodus 19 • On the first day of the third month after the Israelites left Egypt – on that very day – they came to the Desert of Sinai. 2 After they set out from Rephidim, they entered the Desert of Sinai, and Israel camped there in the desert in front of the mountain.

  3. Exodus 19 • 3Then Moses went up to God, and the Lord called to him from the mountain and said, ‘This is what you are to say to the descendants of Jacob and what you are to tell the people of Israel: 4 “You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself.

  4. Exodus 19 • 5Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine, 6 you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.” These are the words you are to speak to the Israelites.’

  5. Genesis 12 • The Lord had said to Abram, ‘Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you. • 2 ‘I will make you into a great nation,    and I will bless you;I will make your name great,    and you will be a blessing.3 I will bless those who bless you,    and whoever curses you I will curse;and all peoples on earth    will be blessed through you.

  6. Exodus 14 • 12 Didn’t we say to you in Egypt, “Leave us alone; let us serve the Egyptians”? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!’

  7. Exodus 16 • 3 The Israelites said to them, ‘If only we had died by the Lord’s hand in Egypt! There we sat round pots of meat and ate all the food we wanted, but you have brought us out into this desert to starve this entire assembly to death.’

  8. Exodus 17 • 5 But the people were thirsty for water there, and they grumbled against Moses. They said, ‘Why did you bring us up out of Egypt to make us and our children and livestock die of thirst?’

  9. Exodus 33 • 14“My Presence will go with you and I will give you rest.”

  10. Our Reward • The reward of God’s presence and rest lies: • not in our convenience or security • but • in our willingness to join Him on His unstoppable mission of love.
