This document outlines the policy and procedure for utilizing iPods for Student Voice assessments. These devices replace the previous Palm Pilots, offering an easy-to-use interface with automatic wireless connection and essential apps. Borrowing is restricted to full-time staff members only, with a strict check-out and check-in procedure. Student Voice iPods Policy and Procedure
Why iPods? • Replace the existing Palm Pilots • Current generation (8Gb) • We have 20 • Property of VPSA, managed by SAIT
Easy to Use • Automatic wireless connection • Student Voice app is on the home screen • Extraneous apps have been removed • They’re set up with “Find My iPhone” service
Usage Policies • Must be used for Student Voice assessments only • Borrowing department is responsible for replacement cost if stolen or returned damaged • Must not be checked out overnight • Must be returned immediately after use
The Borrower Approval Form • Combines: • Borrower approval • Usage policies • Check in / check out procedures
Borrowers Are Special People • Must be full-time staff members • Student Assistants may NOT check out or check in iPods on behalf of a borrower • Must have a borrower approval form on file with SAIT • Must check out and check in iPods from a full time staff member of SAIT in person, without exception • Are solely responsible for Student Voice assessment setup and troubleshooting
Check Out Procedure • First-come, first-served • Request at: www.csun.edu/sait/ipodcheckout • SAIT verifies borrower and availability • SAIT and borrower complete check out form, no exceptions
Check In Procedure • Borrower returns iPods in person to an SAIT staff member • SAIT staff member and the borrower must complete the check-in form, no exceptions
