  2. PROMOTING A CORNER OF EUROPE PURPOSE: Developing communication skills in foreign languages through ITC (Information and Communication Technology) and media in the context of European knowledge and diversity.

  3. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES • Developing communication skills in English for students and teachers; • Promoting teamwork following the principle of respect for European values; • Knowing the socio-cultural and geographical similarities and differences; • Developing the skills to use IT and media resources for carrying out the activities of the project; • Forming basic notions of communication in the language of the partner country; • Awareness of national identity, geographical and cultural heritage in order to promote tourism in the partner areas; • Valorizing the aesthetic, art and language senses at students through the products they create themselves; • Initial forming of the necessary competences in tourism marketing; • Creating direct links between students and teachers from countries involved in the project in order to discover other educational systems.

ACTIVITIES • Construction and management of the web page of the project; • Drafting and editing the 2011 calendar in electronic format and printing the calendar; • Drafting and editing the digital photo album; • Drafting and editing the auxiliary material “Marketing and IT” in electronic format; • Paying thematic visits, photographing the attractions of the area of residence; • Drafting essays and travel notes; • Developing advertisments to promote tourist attractions; • Developing, printing and distributing leaflets to promote the project; • Conversations on messenger, chat, discussion forum; • Promoting the project in school and local media; • Attending online courses for learning the mother tongue of the other partner; • Photo exhibition organization in the mobility; • Organization of the essays contest online.

ACHIEVEMENTS : • Web page “Travel Online” • Online course to initiate students in communication and writing in the language of the partner country • Raising the quality of the written and oral communication in English on the project theme by 100% • Introduction of students to the beginner level in reading, writing and communicating in the language of the partner on the project theme by 100% • Developing artistic, aesthetic and language senses by making advertisements, organizing photo exhibition, by editing the guide “Travel Log” and the 2011 Calendar • Introduction to making advertisements of the course on the computer • Photo Album “Piatra-Neamt – Kaunas on 3/2” • “Travel Log” – travel guide in English in electronic format • RO-EN-LI Romanian-English-Lithuanian polyglot illustrated dictionary in electronic format • Programs and support for the optional course entitled “Marketing and IT” in English in electronic format • Auxiliary for the optional course “Marketing and IT” in electronic format” • „2011 Calendar” • Leaflets promoting the project • Hours of language training in the language of the partner • Work mobility in Romania • Work mobility in Lithuania

CRITERIA FOR THE SELECTION OF STUDENTS FOR MOBILITY • The degree of involvement of students in project activities (time spent in making products, level of activity, etc.) • Knowledge of communication in English. • Knowledge of computer operating. • The degree of socialization and communication.
