  9. Theme/Purpose • Our theme this year is "The Leader Within". Our goal is to build up students as leaders and for them to go back home with something to give back to their peers, something that they can use for the rest of their lives. Part of our mission is to develop these young leaders into more mature leaders. We believe that every student has the potential to do great things, and we hope to help turn those students into great leaders. • Where did this theme come from? Our officers. • From the words of our President, “Building the leader within you. I think this is the main reason that a state-wide convention is held, and maybe even the reason for having StuCo itself, to grow and to develop leadership skills. Yes, working to change the world is great, but what good is it to “help” others if you yourself are not growing as leaders and are not getting the most out of the hard work you put into things? I believe that if everyone could grasp some basic leadership skills, their work will be much more beneficial to themselves, and to others! Anyone and everyone has room to grow and to expand in knowledge, and I think that this year’s convention should be a place where everyone can grow as leaders and as human beings. “

  10. Breakout Schedule and organization • Schools divided into 7 color groups of three subgroups (ABC) • Each color shares the same three classrooms, all in the same hall/area • Each school will have their students paired then placed in a group. • 2-3 colors will share a large conference room for our great speakers and large idea classes. • This means we will have essentially just three different kinds of classes and every student will experience all three classes.
