  4. collect project information • thorough assessment of the infrastructure of existing space or set of drawings for new construction • list priority items identified in client meetings • note design elements affecting space planning • appraise construction restraints & evaluate impact on design

  5. design goal • establish a visual style & functional goal for space • analyze overall space & possible design options • carefully examine volume, form, line, texture, light, scale & proportion, balance, contrast, & unity • select plumbing fixtures that reflect client’s ergonomic profile and style as well as function in the space—visit showrooms • review manufacturer’s product installation guidelines with plumber & contractor before laying out final plans
