  1. I Can Still See Fleas On My Dog. Why? If you are thinking you had already treated your pet for fleas then why are you seeing them again? The most common inference is, probably the treatment didn’t work well. However, the scenario may be completely different! Fleas are a common problem in warm and humid regions. This kind of a climate aids such parasites to develop faster and quicker thereby increasing their population multifold. As a matter of fact, more than 80% of the fleas are present in the environment with only 20% that infest the pets. The flea population living on your dog is thus clearly outnumbered by those that thrive in the surroundings. This increases the chances of more fleas waiting to hatch and feed on the host than the ones you recently treated. Moreover, when there is flea infestation, not all the fleas are present on your dog. Some fall off on the ground, some on the bedding or carpets, and some more on the furniture. In short, you can find them in some form almost everywhere if the infestation is heavy. It must have sent chills down your spine by now. Ok, relax! Don’t fret! Once you have ruled out the problem, it is easier to take measures. Getting worried is no solution. Let’s check as to how to overcome this problem instead of complaining.

  2. Effective Measures to Stop Fleas from Recurring If your furry pal is hypersensitive to flea bites and easily develops itching and redness even on small infestation, better that you continue with the monthly treatment and administer Frontline plus when you see signs of adult fleas. •Vacuum your house thoroughly, especially the beddings, carpets, corners of the sofa and other furniture. •Wash your pet’s bedding (including the mattress) in hot water and anything that your dog sleeps on. Alternatively, you can also buy flea resistant beds that are quite effective in repelling the fleas. •Sweep your yards well and keep the lawn short. Smaller the lawn easier will be its upkeep. •Remove the old mattresses. A flea can pool inside the foam and lay eggs which further hatch into larvae and transform into adult fleas. •Don’t go natural in this case. Experimenting things can cause havoc and lead to more pronounced infestation. •Stick to effective treatments like Frontline Plus, Advantage or Advantix Since the environment is already flooded with a heavy amount of fleas, the only way to control their growth is by keeping the surroundings immaculately clean and maintaining a good hygiene. Shampoo your pet regularly and tie a flea repelling collar viz seresto, kiltix when taking him outdoors. Comb the furs daily so as to chuck any flea stuck inside the tangles. You cannot avoid or ignore flea infestation, so better control it. These tips will certainly help you if you follow them diligently. .
