Waukegan to College aims to support first-generation college-bound students and their families in Waukegan, providing resources, mentoring, and customized workshops to ensure college graduation success. Through the College Persistence Success Team, including a graduation coach, peer mentor, staff, and parent involvement, students receive guidance and support throughout their college journey. Tracking student performance and communication allows for targeted interventions and personalized assistance. Join Waukegan to College and get off to a great start in college!

The Need in Waukegan ● High first-generation population, with low college attainment ● Few college and career resources at Waukegan High School ● No other programs in the community focused on orienting parents to the college process ● The majority of WHS students are not prepared for college - only 24% college-ready (Illinoisreportcard.com)

Mentors and staff will collaborate to track student success on the following measures: • School Performance (Grades, Progress towards degree, major choice) • Resourcefulness (Ability to use resources on campus) • Involvement (Extracurriculars, and Social Engagement) Tracking College Student Performance & Communication
