  2. 38th Statistical Commission Principle and Recommendation of Population and Housing Census • Adopted • Revised guidelines to be released in all official languages • Increase technical assistance by UNSD and other agencies to build capacity • Recognized support to countries by UNFPA, WHO and interstate Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States

  3. 38th Statistical Commission Disability measurement • Well covered in the P&R • Appreciated the work carried out by the WG • Acknowledged elaboration of a set of census questions on disability based on ICF • Request for enhanced coordination to avoid duplication of resources • Endorsed the work plan for 2007

  4. 38th Statistical Commission Disability measurement • Endorsed the work plan for 2007 • Finalizing the analysis of test data and census questions • Providing a full set of questions suitable for sample surveys • Requested WG to assist countries in the context of implementation of census and sample survey question • Urged for collaboration; with WHO in the context of application of ICF & • Budapest initiative on measurement of health status

UN Convention on Disability Statistics and data collections • Collect appropriate data to guide decision making and policy implementation • Inline with UN fundamental principles of official statistics • Information be appropriately disaggregated, e.g. by age and gender • Effective dissemination of data making it accessible to various stakeholders
