Bjørn S. Nilsen has an extensive academic background with a BS from California State University, Sacramento, an MS from Michigan State University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota. His research spans various collaborations, including photon simulations in EM calorimeter (CMOR) and studies on charge-changing cross sections in relativistic nuclear fragmentation (HEAO-3 and UHIC). Nilsen's post-doctoral work at Louisiana State University involved cosmic ray composition analysis and high-energy Pb-Pb interactions. Currently, he is involved in software development and alignment monitoring for the ALICE experiment at OSU.
