Role of the Ministry • Not involved in day-to-day environmental management, the focus is on: • Laws, regulations and national environmental standards • Providing national direction through national policy statements and strategies • Providing guidance for the implementation of legislation • Monitoring and providing information about the health of the environment

Engaging in policy • Need to talk the same language - get a common understanding • Arriving with a solution will get a more positive response than arriving with a problem CAA Regs, Vne, indicated airspeed, VFR, IFR, type rating, class G airspace, QNH, dead reckoning?? Permitted baseline ultra vires, RMA, section 32, consent conditions, section 88(3), notification??
