  3. PROBLEM RESEARCH • What are the respons of Bandar Lampung City’s government about the critical attitude of society through social media and its implications for policy changes?

  4. OBJECTIVE • To Analyze the use of social media and its implications for policy changes

  5. Methods This study uses desk research method which is based on secondary data. Data was taken from website and social media. The analysis of data uses relevant theory or concept, such as policy change, social media, and dynamic of government.

Public Policy • Traffic engeenering (change) Policy (KEBIJAKAN REKAYASA JALAN) • Free Accessibilty to Education Services (KEBIJAKAN BINALINGKUNGAN/Biling) • Flyover development Policy (KEBIJAKAN PEMBANGUNAN FLYOVER) Argument : • Cause Policy Debate (Menimbulkanperdebatankebijakan) • Reflecting the policies which are perceived by the regional head (Mencerminkankebijakan yang dipersepsikanolehWalikota Bandar Lampung)

CONCLUSION • Social media research and policy changes are more emphasis to the quality of influence of society interaction with government. • Social media utilization, such as instagram, facebookand twitter are used for a tool to critic, support, reject, protest or suggest of three city government’s policy, that are: biling program, traffic changes, and MBK flyover development . • From the 3 policies, only traffic changes which has been stopped because the society’s critics to that policy.

  12. While the free accessibility policy and flyover development are getting criticized by society through social media but substansially is not be implicated to policy changes.

  13. RECOMMENDATION • Government must be open minded in managing government and interaction needs between society and government through social media must be placed as a part of democration progress in making and implementing public policy.

  14. The role of information and communication’s service is not enough for accomodating public’s aspiration in social media, but it must be available in regional government internal which is study about substance of public critism, whether the substance is true or not, whether that aspiration is only a tool to delegitimize government, and how about the influence to that policy.
