  2. Key Features of Service • Centralising Urological cancer surgery for RALP, RALC and RAPN as well as open counterparts to the HSBUCC • Fellowship training in Robotics RCSEngland • One of only 3 centres offering all robotic procedures

  3. Key Achievements • Reducing surgical rota to ensure minimum numbers per surgeon are achieved. • Opening of new surgicentre has enabled the Specialist Urology service to operate more lists. • Specialist service able to offer a wide and comprehensive list of treatment options.

  4. Key Achievements • Well attended Education Days, including visiting speakers from Canada. • Improved communication links across the network and with supranetwork teams • Participation in GP Education events and linked Macmillan GP • Survivorship pilot project at L&D

  5. Some Challenges • The number of treatment options for patients with prostate cancer, incl different surgical techniques • PSA testing – different views re value of it as screening technique • Developing robust survivorship pathways involving more primary/community support

  6. Other Challenges • Funding for education days • More centralisation to keep up with population size requirements for centres • Private investment for East of England project on Prostate Cancer with Stefanou Foundation

  7. Priorities for the Future • Ensure continued improvements in cancer waiting times. • Continue to develop the specialist service. • To produce Prostate Cancer film for GPs and perhaps patient audience • Consider new ways of addressing follow up and implement across Network

  8. Finally…. • The small matter of 2.2 million for the new Da Vinci Si Robot
