Similarly the term “organic” can also be used for meat, poultry, and dairy products. Organic meat, poultry, and dairy falls under following regulations: Livestock must be fed with rations that are organically produced, and handled. No drugs should be administered to animals in absence of illness. No hormones should be used on animals to promote growth. Excessive feed additives should not be used. Synthetic parasitic ides should never be administered. Slaughter by-products should not be used to feed. There are also certain origin and maintenance regulations of livestock which need to be met, like providing them with appropriate veterinary care, housing and sanitary conditions.
