water cycle

The water cycle is the continuous journey water takes from the sea, to the sky, to the land and back to the sea. The movement of water around our planet is vital to life as it supports plants and animals.

  1. Water Cycle.  Water Cycle.  Diagram of water cycle. Different Stages of water cycles. Working. * Water Cycle * Water circulates in nature continuously. This Continuous circulation of water in nature is called water cycle. This cycle is also called hydrological cycle. The water cycle is the process by which water is continuously transferred between the surface of the earth and the atmosphere. The Water Cycle has 9 stages…. Evaporation. Condensation. Precipitation. Interception. Infiltration. Storage. Runoff.  Percolation. Transpiration.

  2. Procedure(Continued): Evaporation : The water from the surface of the ocean, rivers, ponds, etc., evaporates by the heat of sun. Condensation: Water vapor condenses into tiny droplets that form clouds in the sky. Precipitation: The clouds again cool and the tiny droplets collide with one another to for larger droplets and fall in the form of rain or snow. Interception: Interruption of the movement of water. Infiltration: Water in and through the soil. Percolation: Ground water flow. Transpiration: Water in plants to water vapor. Run off: Flow of water to large bodies of water. Streams. River. Lakes. Oceans.

  3. Working: The sun heats the water in river, ponds, lakes and oceans. Some of the water changes into water vapour. The water vapour goes high in the sky. It is cool there. The water vapour changes into tiny drops of water. The water drops join to make clouds. When the clouds get too heavy, they fall on the earth as rains.
