  5. Editorial Fashion Illustrations are illustrations that accompany text in a fashion-related article. The illustration can be for print (magazines) or web (sites/blogs etc). Fashion illustration styles of drawing the figure are exaggerated. Proportions are elongated. In a normal figure drawing the length of the body is about 7 ½-8 head lengths long. In Fashion figure drawing about 10-11 heads fit the length of the body

  8. Fashion Illustration Styles Fashion Illustrators use a multitude of art media to create their illustrations. Designers will plan out their collections using fashion figure drawing, while illustrators for print may use portraiture or other styles of drawing the figure to convey an idea about a particular style of fashion.

For your fashion illustration: • You will illustrate a self portrait using a white tee shirt and an accessory of your choice. • You rwill render the portrait and hair using graphite. • You will design the tee-shirt and accessory to illustrate a theme * of your choice, using another medium of your choice. • Options include: • Scratch art paper • Collage • Three-dimensional collage • Marker • Watercolor • Themes may include: • Allude to a movie/costume design for a store or brand of your choice • Design/Pattern (textile design) Nature/Science • A time period in fashion Fantasy
