Fundraising 101. Alpha Pi Epsilon Chapter . Tips . Plan two weeks to a month ahead for each event . Make committees such as poster. Center around holidays such as Valentines Day, Cesar Chavez Day, and Christmas, ect. Have reasonable prices, also written out on posters.

Tips • Plan two weeks to a month ahead for each event. • Make committees such as poster. • Center around holidays such as Valentines Day, Cesar Chavez Day, and Christmas, ect. • Have reasonable prices, also written out on posters. • Decide on needed materials. • Experiment with different events and keep most successful ones. • Document the successful fundraisers for future student use. • Take preorders depending on the fundraiser. • Have some people at the table selling and some people. walking around advertising the sale. • Go to certain place where students or staff can’t make time to go to your table. Ex. Counselors, Financial Aid, ect.

  3. Valentines Day • Roses made from Hersey Kisses • Sold for $1 • Made bundles of a dozen • Did preorder dozens for $10 a dozen • Included a special note on the rose(s) • Had someone dress up as cupid • Delivered pre orders

  5. Car Show Date: Third Saturday in March

  6. Car show participants paid $15 (Pre-registration) • $20 on the day of the car show

  7. Vendors: Vendors paid $25

  8. Tamale Sale • Date: May 1, 2012 • Location: In front of the student center • Time: setup 9 am selling 11am-1pm clean up 1pm -2pm • 9 dozen of chicken • 3 dozen of pork • 3 dozen of beef • Refried beans • Mexican rice

  9. Contd. • Materials • Posters • Forks/spoons/knives • Napkins/plastic plates • Foil trays/ water/ lighter/ candle to keep the food warm • Serving spoons for rice, beans, and salsa • Sodas- sprite, diet coke, pepsi, water • Coolers • Serving gloves • Cash box

Don Isidro made the tamales for a dollar per tamale • We sold each tamale for $2 or for a plate that included a tamale, rice, beans, and a drink for $5 • We also had preorders with the time and location for delivery (a couple of people were in charge of this) • We played music to draw the crowd • We needed a cooler with ice for the sodas but we kept some of the sodas in the fridge • We sold all the tamales

  11. Halloween Bake Sale • Member made the baked items: • Franken Pops  $1.00 • Haunted Cupcakes  $1.50 • Pumpkin Pie  $1.00 • Pumpkin Cookies  $1.00 • Caramel: • Green Apples  $1.00 • Red Apples  $1.50

  12. Made about 50-60 bags • Covered with Christmas/winter designs • Made with assorted candy such as candy canes, chocolate, ect.

  13. New Fundraiser Ideas • Hotdog Sale with chips and drinks • Carne Asada Taco sale with drinks • Tostilocos sale • Bake sale • Nachos • Lumpia • Other ethnic/American food, ect
