This lesson focuses on the significance of using facts to support arguments in discussions about stewardship of nature. Students will collaborate with partners to explore the question, "Should we be stewards of nature?" and learn to identify persuasive techniques in various media. The goal is to apply elements of persuasion effectively and structure arguments using researched facts. With support from resources on Edmodo, students will gather facts and compose a well-structured paragraph that incorporates complex sentences and persuasive strategies to uphold their viewpoint.

Research • On edmodo.com you will find a link to articles to do your research and a chart to help you record your facts. Record facts that will help you defend your opinion. As you record your facts think about how they will work with the text structure you have chosen.
