Your lessons will be… • Taught by specialist staff with degrees in the relevant subjects • Varied in style and include a variety of learning activities • Focused on you being an independent learner • Practical on occasions • The springboard into wider reading • Interesting and include relevant examples and case studies • Focused on exam / assessment criteria and content

  4. You can expect the following outside of school work… • Research tasks • Exam question practice (AS / A2) • Preparation for presentations including videos and PPTs • Essays (normally past exam questions) • Reading to prepare for lesson • Skills practice • Independent work on assignments (BTEC)

You can use these qualifications for/to • Degrees in the subjects or related degree e.g. PE or physiotherapy • Jobs in PE – Sports journalism • Teaching or coaching PE • Personal trainer / Fitness trainer • Local/ National Government / development officer • Public Service / RAF and Army • Sports organisations / Youth sport trust

  7. The equipment you need is… • Folder for each subject • Highlighters • Pens/pencils • Dividers for areas in folders • Revision cards • Calculator • Internet Access • PE kit

To prepare for the A Level PE you could: Watch… Related you tube videos e.g. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkRsSu9USx0 OCR PE Heinemann - Sarah Van Wely OCR Physical Education Philip Allan - Atherton, Burrows, Young Newspaper articles on recent sporting contemporary issues - e.g. Drugs in sport, violence, cheating, sponsorship. Keep up to date on… Current sporting issues in broad sheets. Watch the Olympics!!!

  9. The advice we would offer is.. • Stay on top of the work – if you feel you are struggling speak to the teachers • Keep organised – especially notes and folder work • Invest In subject dividers, revision cards, highlighters (many colours) and folders
