Empowering Special Needs Students as Peer Tutors through ICT and WebQuest Creation
This project explores how involving students with Mild General Learning Disabilities (MGLD) in designing and delivering WebQuests can promote engagement and higher-order thinking skills. Utilizing Information and Communication Technology (ICT), students will create learning materials for their peers, breaking the cycle of academic failure. Grounded in constructivist theories, this approach encourages collaboration and social interaction among learners. The research will analyze the impact of peer-led learning experiences, focusing on student reflections, discussions, and assessments.

Research Methodology & Ideas on the end users/data sample Case study Based on observation and experience Appropriate for individual researcher One aspect of problem under time constraints. Prior background knowledge of participants nick@scoileoin.ie
Potential Findings • The data gathered will be analysed for evidence of higher order thinking skills during the process. • E.g. • Webquests themselves. • Threads in discussions with the pupils • Teacher – pupil, pupil-pupil, pupil designer- pupil learner • Teacher observations • Development process • Delivery • In other situations (other people’s comments) • Comments from peers • Students reflections • Test results • Self esteem nick@scoileoin.ie
