California Assembly Bill 32California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 By July 1, 2007 Adopt a list of action measures that can be implemented before January 1, 2010 By January 1, 2008 Establish a statewide GHG emissions cap for 2020 Adopt mandatory reporting rules for significant sources of GHGs By January 1, 2009 Adopt a plan indicating how emission reductions will be achieved By January 1, 2011 Adopt regulations to achieve the maximum technologically feasible and cost-effective reductions in GHGs Convene an Environmental Justice Advisory Committee and an Economic and Technology Advancement Advisory Committee to advise Air Resources Board Ensure public notice and opportunity for comment for all ARB actions Require ARB to thoroughly evaluate impact of regulations

California Assembly Bill 1881 Starting January 1, 2007 HOAs and common interest developments may no longer prohibit the use of low-water-use plantsStarting January 1, 2008 Water agencies must require separate landscape water meters as a condition of new water service, when the irrigated landscape exceeds 5K sq ft (does not apply to single family homes or agriculture)By January 1, 2009 The Department of Water Resources will revise State Model Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance recommendations including: 1) Implementation of water conserving rate structures 2) Requirement of the use of smart controllers 3) Prohibition of runoff Starting January 1, 2010 Every California county and city must adopt the DWR Model Ordinance or a local ordinance  Energy Commission must adopt performance standards and labeling requirements for irrigation controllers and moisture sensors By January 1, 2012 All controllers and sensors sold or installed in the state must meet the performance standards and labeling requirements
