  1. LCD Projector - Setup • The LCD projector can be a very useful tool for the school and for individual classrooms. • Using its features will allow you to show videos on a whole wall instead of by a TV screen barely visible from the back of the room. • You can attach a computer and demonstrate to your class using anything you could summon up on your monitor, pictures, PowerPoint presentation such as this or media clips and even the internet itself.

  2. LCD Projector - Setup • The first connection you must make is for power. • On this LCD projector the power cord connects here, on the back of the LCD in the lower left hand corner. • The other end will connect to an outlet or an extension cord

  3. LCD Setup – Getting Video • Next let’s get the monitor connection going. • Take the cable with the plugs on the ends with many tiny pins cluster inside a metal collar. • It plugs in right here.

  4. LCD Setup – Getting Video • The other end of the monitor cable will plug into the back of your computer. • In the case on the right it plugs into an extra output provided by the manufacturer.

  5. LCD Setup – Getting Video • If you are connecting to a desktop, unless you have two video outputs, you will have to disconnect the monitor first • Then plug the blue monitor cable that came with the LCD into the same connection

  6. LCD Setup – Getting Video • Next connect both the computer monitor cable AND the other end of the blue LCD monitor cable to the back of the LCD projector as shown • This will loop the video back to your computer so you can see something on the screen now that your monitor is connected to the LCD

  7. LCD Setup – Getting Audio • Next comes the sound cable. This cable channels sound from your computer to the sound system in the LCD projector. This provides somewhat louder sound although don’t expect surround sound. If you are serious about sound or have a large noisy room to work in, explore other ways of amplifying the sound. • Connect the mini plug to the socket shown on the right.

  8. LCD Setup – Getting Audio • The other end should go to the Line Out jack on your laptop or sound card. • Look for an icon near the jack which shows something like this, signifying that this jack sends audio out.

  9. LCD Setup – Getting Remote Control • The remote control is the little silver panel concealed in the container on the bottom of the LCD projector. • It needs to have a USB connection between the computer and the projector. • If you wish to use the remote control connect the USB cable to the socket as shown on the right

  10. LCD Setup – Getting Remote Control • Now connect the flatter end to the USB port on your computer. • If you don’t see a connection which will accept this type of cable it may mean that your computer doesn’t have a USB port and therefore you will have to advance your presentation manually.

  11. LCD Projector - Setup • Congratulations. You have now connected the LCD projector to your computer. • Next you should look at startup and how to use the various functions of the LCD in the next presentation. • For now bask in the glory.
