PROVOR CTF: FSI conductivity sensors Collar • Unreliable sensors (large drift, jumps, etc) • Problem with the position of the collar that modified the conductivity • Offset of 0.01 when the collar was at 10 cm of the sensor • Offset ~ 0 when the collar was at 25 cm of the sensor • Systematic salinity bias for the first generation of PROVOR CTF floats (Gyroscope floats) • Noisy data because the first 2 decimals were transmitted  Changed to transmit the thousandth

PROVOR CTS: Seabird sensor no instrument error detected so far • SBE 41cp; the pump is always on. • Sampling rate ~ 10s • Transmission of bin averaged values; example: P,T,S values averaged in 10dbar bin in the top 500dbar and then in 25dbar bin, • Ascent rate ~ 0.09m/s • A mean surface pressure is estimated and transmitted (round value). Then the surface pressure is set to 0

  4. PROVOR CTS: surface data The pump is stopped at 5 dbar but the meaurements are done till the surface. When the data are averaged in 10 dbar bins, the data at the first level, that is at 5 dbar, are obtained from values measured below 5dbar when the pump is turned on and above 5dbar when the pump is turned off. So this first level must be considered with care.
