  2. Habitat • Where – Africa & parts of Asia • biome –forest, woodlands, scrublands, plains, mountains in Africa

  3. Appearance • Size -as big as a Saint Bernard • Height – 1.05 to 2.06 ft. at the shoulder • Length- 3-6 ft. with tail • Tail-2-3.5 ft. • Color- spotted with black and yellowish-orange • Type of skin- silky like fur

  4. Eating Habits • Kinds of food- gazelle, impala, deer, wildebeest • How they get their food- they hunt for food and eat it in a tree to protect it from predators • Carnivore

Behavior and Other Facts • # of babies- 1-6, average 2-3 • How cared for- stay with moms 18-24 months • Protection- leopards are listed endangered in Asia and parts of Africa • Unusual behaviors- they can leap more than 20 ft. • Other- they are nocturnal, on occasions they hunt monkeys, rodents and birds • Life span- up to 20 years • Predators- tigers, cheetahs, humans
