Alfonso Montuori and Isabella ContiState • “Partnership” can mean much more than simply working together. It can be a completely different way of structuring human relations. • The term “partnership” has many different meanings. It refers to relationships with vendors, limited partnerships, business alliances, the emphasis on team work, and a new spirit of seeking out opportunities for collaboration and networking. But, partnership is much more than a fashionable new buzzword. It literally calls for a complete shift in the way we view and, above all, create human relationships.
Relationships with vendors Wikipedia States VRM, or Vendor Relationship Management, is the reciprocal of CRM or Customer Relationship Management. VRM describes a set of tools, technologies and services that help individuals go to market and manage relationships with vendors. In turn, vendors who align themselves to these tools, technologies and services will have the opportunity to build better relationships with their customers.
Limited Partnership Wikipedia StatesA limited partnership is a form of partnership similar to a general partnership, except that in addition to one or more general partners (GPs), there are one or more limited partners (LPs). It is a partnership in which only one partner is required to be a general partner.[1]
Business Alliances Wikipedia States A business alliance is an agreement between businesses, usually motivated by cost reduction and improved service for the customer. Alliances are often bounded by a single agreement with equitable risk and opportunity share for all parties involved and are typically managed by an integrated project team. An example of this is code sharing in airline alliances.

“Who should take PART in raising our children?” ALL of us In 1996 Hilary Clinton made famous the ancient African Proverb "It takes a village to raise a child." The proverb is from Igbo and Yoruba regions of Nigeria and the basic meaning is that raising a child is a communal effort. It is to be taken to mean that the responsibility lies not only with the parents, but also with the extended family and in some cases the community.
“Wise words being quoted” • “You need to surround yourself with quality human beings that are intelligent and have a vision.” -Vince McMahon • “Life is easier when you are part of a network of friends and family, a neighborhood.” • “You start building a good neighborhood when you yourself decide that you will be a good neighbor.” • “It’s like we got away from the village, it’s time to go back home and get back to the basics. How many more of our young people must die before we realize we need each other and Christ” -James E. Austin
No man is an island... "All mankind is of one author, and is one volume; when one man dies, one chapter is not torn out of the book, but translated into a better language; and every chapter must be so translated...As therefore the bell that rings to a sermon, calls not upon the preacher only, but upon the congregation to come: so this bell calls us all: but how much more me, who am brought so near the door by this sickness....No man is an island, entire of itself...any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind; and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee." John Donne Meditation XVII: No man is an island...
WHAT??? • What is it that I want? • What would I want to do, learn, experience for myself, staff, and my kids? • After all that thinking of what for my organization… • I must think what can we offer the potential partnering site. • Although other sites may be willing to partner, they may not see your vision right away.
WHO??? • First think about WHO you are as an organization. • What are our values? • What do we believe in? • What are we trying to accomplish? • What age and population do we serve? • WHO is out there?
WHERE??? • After the great layout of what, you need to think about where… • Maybe when you thought about the partnership, a site that has what you may not have. (ex: gym, ball field, arcade games.) • It would be lovely for us to always go to there site, but that new partnership turns into a friendship. And you know your friends will want to visit you.
WHERE ??? (cont) • So where can I house them? • Can I house them? • Maybe we can go out for our where. • If they came to our house what can we do? • You want to be a good host (even though they have all that your kids want.) • Maybe you can meet at a park.
WHEN??? • When is easy. • You must be flexible • Think about what you already do day to day. • Remember some kids are comfortable with what is solid, and change may be difficult for them. • You will have to give them a heads up. • Allow them to go through the process with you.
WHEN ??? (cont) • Tell the kids your idea, and ask them for their ideas. (some kids may know people at other site.) • Even if the partnership does not work, this could be a learning experience or a teachable moment.
WHY??? What they have to offer What we Have to offer Ideas Vision Friendship Fruits of the sprit (love, kindness, peace, patience, faithfulness, goodness, gentleness, self-control) Christ • More Space • They have a gym • They have an arcade • They have a pool • They have a ball field • They have a theater • Bigger library • Better Computers • Cooler Looking
WHY??? (cont) Staff Students Social interaction Social developments Cultural awareness Environment/community awareness Decrease street wars, crime, violence, killings, rapes • Learn • Teach • Establish relationship • Give support • Share ideas • Brainstorm ideas • Workshop • Trainings • Shoulder to lean on
WHY??? (cont) Community Site/Organization Community relations Community outreach Witness Learn Teach Establish relationship Give support Share ideas Brainstorm ideas Workshop Trainings Shoulder to lean on Social interaction Social developments Cultural awareness Environment/community awareness Decrease street wars, crime, violence, killings, rapes Strength Togetherness Unity Camaraderie Village Town peace Neighborhood community focus • Strength • Togetherness • Unity • Camaraderie • Village • Town peace • Neighborhood community focus
HOW??? • Take all that you have learned and write it out. • Write out who you are. • What are we trying to accomplish? • Where can the partnership happen? • When can the partnership happen? • Why should the partnership happen? Assist the other site in seeing your vision. • How do we get started?
HOW??? (cont) • You may need to check your license for on and off ground approval visits to and from other sites. • Research potential sites on the internet . • Make phone calls and visits. • Meet with other site directors and verbal your ideas, see if they are interested. • Create a partnership letter. (I suggest both parties contribute ideas in the letter.) • Have fun with it!!!
Thought’s from a Thinker • “When you come together for a cause, you create a partnership. • When a healthy partnership is created you will establish a relationship. • When you establish a healthy relationship you will create a friendship. • When you create a healthy friendship you will gain a brother or sister. • And that is for a lifetime.”
