Rule of Thirds • Its not about the boxes its about where the lines sit • If we reduce the horizontal the space above the head and put the head on the first line makes for a better shot less unwanted space • If you position him on the lines on the left and the right it makes the shot look more balanced Chopping the screen up into 3 horizontally and vertically
It makes the photo more balanced because where the lines cross over creates these points of interest • If we are taking a a road in a desert, you would a have the road straight Infront of you going off into the horizon • However, if we adjust this and stick the horizon on the top line and the road is going of to one of the focus point it looks more dynamic • So, where those lines cross that where you put subject of interests Rule of Thirds
Camera Height • Needs to match the subject you are filming • When you first start filming you just tilt the camera down to look at what's on the table- not exciting shot • It better if the camera goes down to the same heigh of the object/table= more visually interesting shot Matching camera height to subject
Having the action figure in the foreground and the man in the background creates depth The other image has a change of background which is way more interesting and creates a way better shot The shot has depth as he is a distance away from the soundproofing background and it also uses the rule of thirds as they have gotten rid of all the horrible head space and is more visually pleasing Depth Place your screenshot here
Lighting The lighting in the first image is just a singular lightbulb very normal not very interesting So we can adjust the lighting by turning of some lights and adding new ones in e.g. florescent lights It adds colour to the shot and makes it visually aesthetic and pleasing to look at compared to the normal single bulb lighting
