The Doctorate Program in Information Technology is offered by the Department of Information Science which is a part of the Faculty of Cybernetics and Information Technology at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv - Open University.
The Doctorate Degree in Information Technology from KNU recruits students who have a firm background in statistics, linear algebra, calculus, differential equations and probability. The applicants have to be graduates with a fair understanding of statistics, economics, and programming.
Students also need to have knowledge of hardware systems, languages and architectures. A doctoral program in IT explores methods in which people and technology work together, bound by procedures. Students are taught ways of handling systems at a managerial level with the help of field work and empirical analysis.
The curriculum in information technology covers various specialties that are related to global economics, organizational leadership and international business. Graduates that enroll for this doctorate program usually hold Master’s Degree in engineering, computer science or mathematics.

Admission Criteria • This program is equivalent to EQF (European Qualifications Framework) Level 8 - Doctorate Level • Students have to submit a proposal for detailed research. This proposal has to outline the intended topic of research along with proposed methodology and objectives.
This research topic has to be the choice of the candidate alone and it will get provisionally approved by the Degree Committee before the applicant is accepted to the Course. Applicants have to consider their topic carefully for their Doctorate research. The topic has to cover the background of the research; special mention has to be done of the analysis that has to be adopted and the possible conclusions that have to be reached by the research.
Duration: + 3 years • Age: Minimum age 25 years • Previous study: Master Degree in the related field or equivalent • Fee: 1990 Euro per year
