The social security attorneys are the specialist attorneys who assist the clients with the cases that are concerned with or involve the federal disability benefits from the Social Security Administration or SSA. The social security attorneys usually specialize in administrative law and are generally considered as the public interest attorneys within their profession. The U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics has predicted that the employment opportunities for the attorneys overall are expected to rise by 13% between 2008 and 2018. The working hours of these social security attorneys’ is more than fifty hours per week. The Social Security Disability Attorney average salary is around $59,000 as on the month of October 2012 even though the average attorney salaries can change or vary due to the company, location and other parameters. These attorneys provide legal representation and advice on social security disability issues. The main objective of these attorneys is to help individuals who have been denied the benefits of social security and submit appeals. The attorneys also obtain necessary documents such as medical records and they often consult with the physicians and other health care providers of their clients to make a strong case for their clients in the process of claiming for social security benefits. An attorney to qualify to practice as an SSA must have a bachelor degree and a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. The admission into the Law School is based on candidates requiring or having a satisfactory score on the Law School Admission Test or LSAT. The prospective social security attorneys’ complete courses in social security laws, legal writing, disabilities and civil procedure. An internship is compulsory for the students in most of the law schools before graduation.
