  1. Prepare a simplenutritious dish for both your sister and you. Given $10 to purchase your ingredients, explain your choice of ingredients used and the dish you have decided to make.

  2. “simple” • Not many ingredients required • Not many steps required

  3. “nutritious” • Not too much fat, salt, sugar, butter (etc) • Lower calories

  4. “your sister and you” • Meant for more than one person, hence the serving size should be slightly bigger • Take portion size into consideration • Take any eating requirements into consideration

  5. “$10” • Not a lot of cash  make it last • Buy products that are healthy and not too expensive • Not too many products • Keep track of budget (***)

  6. “choice of ingredients used ” • All-purpose flour • Baking soda • Peanut flour • Dark chocolate • Peanut butter • Banana • Vanilla extract

  7. Dish you have decided to make…

Peanut cookie cake crumble(yields 2 medium cookies, or 3 oreo-sized cookies) • 2 tbsp flour (Substitution: wheat flour) • ¼ tsp baking soda • 1 tbsp peanut flour • 1 tbsp or so water (Note the amount) • 1 tsp (dark chocolate) peanut butter • 1 tbsp mashed banana (as ripe as possible for maximum taste) • ½ tsp vanilla extract • Preheat oven to 180 degcelcius. In a bowl, mix flour and baking soda, and in another, combine the water and peanut flour together. Then add the rest of the ingredients and stir well, before folding in the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients till incorporated. Bake for 10 minutes, and serve warm. (Op: with a sprinkle of unsweetened shredded coconut, and a slight pinch of cocoa powder)

  9. Why the choice of ingredients? • I felt that these ingredients would combine to make nice peanut cookie cakes/shortbread-like cookies w/ chocolate. • These ingredients were quite healthy, I substituted chocolate with dark chocolate, which is more healthy because it has a lower calorie count compared to normal chocolate. Also, banana is used as a substitute for sugar to give the cookies a naturally sweet taste without needing to add sugar, hence making it healthier. The flour used can be substituted with wheat flour, which is a healthier alternative.
