CSUSM Waste Management Program • Waste Management Program - not Recycling Program • Treat program the same as any utility. • Set up waste contract to encourage recycling (free) and discourage trash (cost) • Set up trust for any revenue to reinvest in program. • Audit –materials to focus on. Are you paying to dump air? • Develop avoided cost strategy and investment strategy using payback analysis. • CSUSM avoided cost ~$110,000 annually
