This document discusses the evaluation of electric service rates using PUC retail rate information. Following a recent SCED meeting where participants expressed the need for more data, we explore various plans and options available, including those from Oncor Electric Delivery and different energy providers like Ambit Energy and Amigo Energy. Detailed cost comparisons are provided, alongside considerations for delivery charges and the necessity of consulting broader rate plans. Addressing the lag in information posting, we aim to guide consumers in making informed decisions on their electric service options.

What Information is Available • Cost information for a small number of rate plans, by TDU service area and REP • Plans identified by name, which may give some indication of type of plan • All-in rate, includes delivery charges • Plans appear to be selected to provide cost comparisons over long periods • Separate table on PUC website provides unbundled delivery rates • Lag in posting of information
Using PUC Rate Information to Calculate G • May need broader set of rate plans • Need to refer to other sources for key plan details (EFL or Terms and Conditions) • Need to subtract delivery rates calculated from different web page • Is lag in posting information a concern?
