Product Overview - ColdFusion • ColdFusion MX: • has been on market for almost a year now! • supports web services, XML, more OOP concepts, J2EE, JDBC RDBMS connectivity, and has so many other new features • The next generation of ColdFusion MX: • now in beta 2… Release Candidate sure to follow soon • is a version that every company running ColdFusion MX is sure to upgrade to

  6. Product Overview – Flash • Flash MX: • has been on the market for over a year now and the plug-in has great market penetration • allows Flash Remoting, OOP, and is more UI and business app. savy • Next version of Flash still in alpha

  7. Product Overview – Flash Communication Server • version 1.5 has been on the market for several months • has been chosen as the platform of choice by many large companies for delivering streaming video, real time interactive functionality such as chat and video/audio conferencing

Product Overview - Dreamweaver • Dreamweaver MX: • has been on the market for over a year now • Has all the original design features (with added dynamic page support) along with many of the behaviors and appearances of ColdFusion Studio. It also has excellent XML, Component, and WebServices support including a killer component builder! • Is continuing to gain popularity • many ColdFusion developers have accepted it as a serious development tool

Product Overview - Contribute • Contribute: • was released about 6 months ago • is a very affordable “light” version of Dreamweaver MX that allows content in sites developed with Dreamweaver templates to be authored by anyone – restricting them to the editable regions of the base Dreamweaverr template (think of it similarly to a content management system for static HTML sites). • has been quietly well received. Version 1.5 is now in beta testing, which implies that whatever rumors you’ve heard, Contribute is not going to just vanish

Product Overview - Breeze • Breeze: • has been out for a few months • has gotten a lot of buzz in the community but not many people really understand what it is • Breeze is an application hosted by Macromedia. When you have a breeze account, you install a Breeze power-point plug-in which allows you to then upload power point slides to the breeze server which then transforms them into a flash movie which people can view online • Breeze also has e-learning functionality built into it!

  11. Product Overview – Central • Macromedia Central: • Hasn’t officially been released – even in beta • Has been officially announced • It is a flash portal framework. Essentially, it is a browser that little flash movies execute within. These flash movies exchange data with each other and they talk with servers via Web Services. • Promises to give flash developers an outlet for desktop application development.

Product Overview – Flash Data Connection Kit • Flash Data Connection Kit: • Was released a few months ago • is a series of UI components that are fully configurable with little or no action scripting required • Out of the box functionality includes • interaction between it’s UI components • Record set paging navigation • Data maintenance • 3 data sources: • Flash Remoting • XML • SQL Server 2000 • Is ideal for Rapid Prototyping and for designers or developers who aren’t comfortable with actionscript to achieve dynamic results

  13. Product Overview - DRK • DevNet Resource Kit: • Is how Macromedia now offers top notch support to developers who use various products • Latest release is DRK 3 which showcased 3 ColdFusion Applications, Flash Component Kit 5, other sample applications, articles, and more

Product Overview – On Demand! • On Demand: • Is brand spanking new… few people have seen it or heard about it • Is a series of free online tutorials created by Macromedia in order to support their products • Was created with Breeze and is the first great example I’ve seen of Breeze at work! • Can be accessed at: http://www.macromedia.com/macromedia/events/online/ondemand/
