The CONCEPT • Within the framework of the Directive 2008/96/EC, Greece has developed a plan for the extensive safety improvement of its national and rural road network. • The plan aims at reducing the number and severity of road accidents, as well as at diminishing “black spots” in a network of 15.000km.

Process Description The procedure includes thefollowing steps: • Data Collection • Findings Evaluation using all the available tools • Preparation of Interventions Catalog • Interventions Ranking • Interventions Prioritizing • Studies of Short Term Interventions • Preparation of Interventions Implementation Program • Preparation of the List of Medium Term Interventions
