  2. Catholic feast OnEaster Sunday celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ, preceded by a period of Lent and Palm Sunday.Masses in all churches of France, as here in Rome. Easter is a day of celebration and joy!

Pagan festival If Easter has a religious meaning for the Christian and Jewish religions, Easter is a pagan festival too.The "Spring Festival" is rooted in the traditions celebrated pre Christian renewal and rebirth. Legend of Ancient Greece that spring had returned. Many pagan customs intended to accommodate the return of spring attached themselves to the feast of Easter.              The egg is the symbol of germination occurs in early spring.   4. TRADITIONS The tradition of giving eggs goes back to antiquity. Already, Egyptians and Romans offered colored eggs in the spring because they were the symbol of life and rebirth. In Christian countries, Easter egg is the favorite gift on Easter Day, since Holy Thursday, the bells are silent, a sign of mourning. They say they left for Rome, they come back on Easter eggs by bringing them to sow their passage.The Easter bells bring the Easter eggs. Eggs and bells are ancient symbols.On Easter morning, ringing bells announce back in joy,and spread on their return the eggs in the gardens.          The children will then get them. For the trip, the bells provide themselves with a pair of wings, ribbons or are carried on a chariot.

  5. THE BELLS The legend, in some Catholic countries and particularly in France, says that on the evening of Holy Thursday, they go to Rome where the pope blessed them. In Christian countries, Easter egg is the favorite gift on Easter Sunday. For Maundy Thursday, the bells are silent, a sign of mourning. They say they left for Rome, and come back on Easter with eggs and distribute them. Eggs and bells are ancient symbols.

  7. EasterGAMES and TALES . The legend of Easter eggs A game : Throw eggs! Guaranteed giggles with this game Easter! Participants form two lines facing each other. Each participant on one side launches a raw egg to her partner opposite. Those who break the egg are eliminated. The other retreat a step, just to increase the difficulty of the game at every turn. The carousel is repeated until only one remains intact.These last two partners win the game!

  8. . THE EGG HUNT: A DAY FOR CHILDREN Once the eggs were natural, painted and decorated by the children and then replaced with chocolate or sweets. On the morning of Easter Sunday parents hide chocolate eggs. When they awoke all children are very excited because it is time to look for them. But where to look for? Where are the eggs hidden?    Children equipped with a small wicker basket if possible go to the egg hunt:    in a clump of grass, in a bush or shrub, in a carpet of flowers or a tree?    The whole family joined them for this hunt! Then the children go from house to house in search of Easter eggs ...

  9. At Easter egg becomes a star! On Monday of Easter is also the tradition of eating an omelet. In the city of Bessieres, in the south of France, there is a festival of Easter Monday : an omelette is cooked with ten thousand eggs in a frying pan, which is four meters wide!!   10. Family meals To celebrate Easter, families arrange a meal. Pleasure, joy to meet, and share good food.     Children are happy to enjoy nature awakening while seeking eggs left by the bell!

  11. Decorate the Easter table The table has to be very gay, will be decorated with small colorful eggs or fried ones in chocolate.        Flowers: primroses and other spring flowers: daffodils, crocus yellow and green ... primarily in the spring .

In France Easter and Christmas are celebrated with family as in many countries.                  These are days of children expected to play.                  For adults it is an opportunity to gather at least 2 times a year and share a meal, to share their joys and sorrows.  Christmas on the balcony (2011) ...                   Easter in the embers (2012 )!!!!!!!!!!!!! Say the french!
