Web SPC: Different - - But Not Too Different oSchool Calendar File Format (SPC001) Has Not Changed oUploading Calendar File Replaces All Existing Calendars oTwo Levels of District/School Users: oLEA View - Look, Extract, Don’t Touch ! oLEA Update - “View” Capabilities + Upload + On-Line Modifications oAccess Granted: oView - Any Existing School Calendar, Any LEA, Any Year oUpdate: 1) View Any Calendar, Any LEA, Any Year Plus 2) Upload, Change, Delete Your Active Session Calendars oAccess &Level Assignment Controlled by Local LEA Security Coordinator 6

  7. School Calendar (SPC) System Basic Purpose: Source for editing dates reported within Student Information System (SIS) records. Examples: Enrollment and edit dates; disciplinary actions; etc. Other Uses:Calculating average daily attendance (ADA), average daily membership (ADM), and monitoring compliance with legislated minimum requirement for instructional time (i.e., equivalent to 177 days of instruction X 360 instructional minutes per day). Collection Cycles: Planned Calendars: Opens mid-August thru late in following February. Processing Period 1 – Supports October 1 (MFP) SIS Data Collection NEW ! Processing Period 2 – Supports LEADS Data Collection Processing Period 3 – Supports February 1 (MFP) SIS Data Collection Roll-Over Actual Calendars: Re-opens early May thru late July / early August. Processing Period 9 – Supports End-of-Year SIS Data Collection 7

  25. Delete or select/add grade from dropdown list; then press “Update Grades” or “Cancel” 25

  27. { Add: Slide 2 of 3 } • Enter Basic Calendar (Type 10) data first. Clicking “Add” creates first record of calendar set. • Continue creation and adding of Event Records. As records are added to list, options for “Edit” and “Delete” appear at right of each record. • When all records have been created, click “Validate”. 27

  28. { Add: Slide 3 of 3 } If errors are identified, correct using edit – delete - add functions then re-validate. If no errors, press “Next” to add grades using same process as for “Update Grades.” 28

  37. Good To Go ! Update, Add, & Delete Locked When System Is Closed To Update / Change No Processing Period has been defined for the school year selected. You will not be able to view the calendar data for this school year. (i.e., for update, add, or delete) 37

  38. When System Is Closed To Update / Change You CAN still view, obtain reports, print, and extract prior uploads. You cannot upload data at this time. There is no open Processing Period. 38
