LOCATION Coastal Plateau • West of Cascade Mountain • Islands • Forest The way that geography influenced where they lived is that island have a lot of water and water is their main food source. • East of Cascade Mountain • Along the side of the river The way that geography influenced where they lived is that rivers have better soil, fresh water, and have fish.

FOOD Coastal Plateau • Clams • Mussels • Oyster • Crabs • Salmon • Wild roots The way that geography influenced their diet is that they eat mostly seafood, and they live near the ocean. • Salmon • Deer • Rabbits • Mountain goats • Sheep • Birds • Berries • Wild roots The way that geography influenced their diet is that most of their food are in the mountain area.

SHELTER Coastal Plateau • Longhouses The way that geography influenced the type of shelter and materials used is that it takes trees and rocks, and forests have a lot of trees and rocks. • Teepees • Pit house • Tule-mat lodge • Lean-to The way that geography influenced the type of shelter and materials used is that teepees are usually used around rivers and they live around rivers.

CLOTHING Coastal Plateau • Rain cloaks • Warm robes • Hats • Capes The way that geography influenced the type of clothing worn is that rain cloaks, hats, capes, help protect you from the rain, and warm robes help from getting a cold. • Deer skin dress • Fur poncho • Leather mittens • Capes • Moccasins The way that geography influenced the type of clothing worn is that deer skin dresses are made out of deer and they hunt deer.
