  3. New Grades School Report Card Assignments are MORE & are Graded differently A= 4.0 B= 3.0 C= 2.0 D= 1.0 F = 0.0 (A--G H.S. Requirement) • Grading System • Elementary School • District Assessments • CST/ State Assessments • ------------------------ • A = Advanced • P= Proficient • B= Basic • BB= Below Basic • FBB= • Far Below Basic

  4. Citizenship: E= Excellent Behavior G= Good Behavior S= Satisfactory Behavior N= Needs Improvement in Behavior U= Unsatisfactory Behavior Expectations: BE and DO your BEST – at all times: on school grounds, fieldtrips, assemblies & school bus. Student Citizenship & Expectations

  7. Parent Communication • Teacher Ease: www.teacherease.com • Check Grades • Find Homework Assignments • Emailing Teachers (Preferred!) • Power School – Phase-in 2013-2014 • Database for District: *Student Information System * Attendance * Schedules * Discipline * Communication Files

SDUSD - Cell Phone Use Policy • Cell Phones are allowed Before & After School • Hours, to call or text parents, ONLY. • School is not responsible for cell phones. • Possible Suspension if rule is broken. • Keep out of sight & turned-off- If … not • Phone will be confiscated & • Parents must pick up cell phones in the office- NO exceptions. • Students MAY NOT contact parents with cell phone during school hours. • If parents need to be called • A teacher may give permission to call from class in passing period. • A student can come to the Office to make a call. • During School Hours: • No Texting, pictures, video-recording or • listening to music–unless teacher allows it in class.

  9. School HoursSleep Well & Be on Time • Arrival • Breakfast at School 8:35 – 8:48 • 8:45 - Warning Bell (short) • Instruction begins at 8:48 a.m. • Dismissal • M-T-W-F at 3:50 p.m. • Thurs. at 1:05 p.m.

SCHEDULE • Period 1 -- 8:48 – 9:45 • Period 2 --9:50 - 10:45 • Lunch: 10:50 – 11:05 • Period 3 ---11:10 – 12:07 • Period 4 ---12:12 – 1:05 • Dismissal at 1:05 6 Periods of Approx. 1 hr. Blocks Period 1 --- 8:48 – 9:45 Period 2 --- 9:50 – 10:45 Period 3 ---10:50 – 11:45 LUNCH --- 11:50 – 12:20 Pd. 3.5 --- 12:25 – 12:55 Period 4 --- 1:00 – 1:55 Period 5 --- 2:00 – 2:55 Period 6 --- 3:00 – 3:50 DISMISSAL 3:50

  12. Tips!! • Parents- Remember- • Entering into Middle School is a BIG DEAL! • HELP your student stay organized • COMMUNICATE with the teachers • Give LOTS of support !!! • CHECK for Assignment Completion at least once a week !
