Reading and Government Intervention

With over 20 years of experience in teaching Key Stage 3 and 4, I have authored five books, including two parent guides, focusing on reading from both educator and parental viewpoints. In my early teaching days, before the internet and a significant pool of teenage fiction, I observed that pupils often read complete books in primary school. Today, I explore the evolution of reading culture in classrooms and the impact of government intervention on literacy standards and student engagement.
