Eric talks about “Surrender”http://www.ericliddell.org/eric-liddell/gallery/index.php?cat=Eric%20Liddell&page=40 • One of the teenagers on hospital staff would come and talk with Eric • They discussed what “surrender” meant • “ ‘Surrender means that we are prepared to follow God’s guidance, wherever or however He guides, no matter what the cost.’” (Eric Liddell-Pure Gold, pg. 279) • “Teach me to do they will; for thou are my God.” (Ps. 143:10)

  19. “Be Still My Soul” • “Be still my soul; the hour is hastening on, • When we shall forever be with the Lord, • When disappointment, grief, and fear are gone • Sorrow forgot, love’s purest joys restored. • Be still my soul; when change and tears are past • All safe and blessed, we shall meet at last.”

Why was the word “Surrender”so important to Eric? • Because of what Jesus accomplished on the cross • “For all have sinned.” (Rom. 3:23) • “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Rom. 6:23) • “But God commendeth his love toward us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Rom. 5:8) • JESUS
