  9. Modified F&A Rates • Need to decide F&A rates on a case by case basis • Lower indirect cost rates for labs that use less energy • Money saved from lower costs could be put toward further conservation efforts

  10. Installment Plan • Provide financial incentive to increase energy efficiency. • Grants are delivered to laboratories in installments based on energy efficiency gains. • Grant is still awarded based of scientific merit.
