ADDHS strives to improve the publics total health through advancing the art and science of dental hygiene by ensuring the access to quality oral health care.

    3. How to have healthy teeth ADDHS recommends that you have a yearly dental exam by a licensed dentist. Typically the dentist will recommend preventative and restorative care. As registered dental hygienist, we primarily attend to preventative needs. Such needs can include dental cleanings, application of sealants and or fluoride, and instructions on proper dental care.

    4. What are Sealants

    5. A sealant is a plastic coating painted on the top surface of six and twelve year molars. In some instances, sealants are also applied to permanent bicuspids and baby molars. Sealants are safe and pain free way to prevent tooth decay.

    6. How its done After the dentist examines the teeth to determine what teeth are sealable, a small amount of etchant will be applied to the surface of the teeth. Since the etchant taste like soap we try very hard to keep the tongue away from the area. Then, after we rinse and dry the tooth, we apply the plastic sealant. Once it is dry, you have a sealed tooth.
